Laundry Staff

Stillwater Post-Acute, located in El Cajon, is a premier post-acute care facility with 256 beds, dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care that promotes recovery and enhances residents' quality of life. About the Role:

Laundry Staff keep linens, uniforms, and other laundry clean and sanitized. They sort, wash, dry, fold, and deliver laundry while following safety and sanitation rules. This helps keep patients and staff safe and comfortable.

Schedule: 5 AM–1 PM, 4×2

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and infection control practices.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a healthcare or institutional laundry setting.
• Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
• Certification in laundry operations or infection control is a plus.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if required.

Responsibilities:

• Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, uniforms, and other textiles according to facility guidelines and infection control standards.
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment safely and efficiently, including washers, dryers, and pressing machines.
• Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, or contamination and report any issues to supervisors for appropriate action.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare and facility staff to ensure timely delivery and availability of clean laundry items.

Skills:

The required skills such as operating commercial laundry machines and understanding infection control are applied daily to ensure that all textiles are cleaned to the highest standards, which is critical in a healthcare environment. Physical stamina and attention to detail help the Laundry Staff manage large volumes of laundry efficiently while maintaining quality and safety. Preferred skills like knowledge of OSHA regulations and prior healthcare laundry experience enhance the ability to comply with strict safety protocols and improve workflow. Organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely processing and distribution of laundry items. Effective communication and teamwork skills facilitate coordination with other staff members to meet the facility’s operational needs.
