LAUNDRY SUPERVISOR

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Laundry Supervisor to oversee daily laundry operations and ensure that linens, uniforms, towels, and other laundry items are cleaned, handled, and delivered according to established quality standards. The successful candidate will supervise laundry staff, monitor equipment performance, manage supplies, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure efficient workflow and timely service delivery.

Job Description

• Supervise and coordinate daily laundry activities, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and packaging of laundry items.
• Assign duties and prepare work schedules for laundry attendants and other team members.
• Ensure that linen, towels, uniforms, and guest clothing are handled carefully and processed according to their fabric types and care instructions.
• Monitor the quality of washed and finished items to ensure they are clean, properly pressed, and free from stains or damage.
• Ensure laundry items are delivered to the appropriate departments or guests within the required timeframe.
• Inspect washing machines, dryers, pressing equipment, and other laundry machinery to ensure proper operation.
• Report equipment faults and coordinate maintenance or repairs when necessary.
• Monitor the use of detergents, chemicals, water, electricity, and other laundry supplies to minimize waste.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry received, processed, delivered, and pending.
• Monitor linen inventory and report missing, damaged, or worn-out items.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, chemical-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
• Train staff on proper laundry techniques, equipment operation, and safe work practices.
• Handle laundry-related complaints and resolve service issues professionally.
• Coordinate with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to meet operational requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laundry room and storage areas.
• Prepare daily or periodic reports on laundry activities, staff performance, and supply requirements.

Requirements/Skills

• SSCE, OND, HND, or a relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Laundry Operations, or a related field.
• Proven experience in laundry operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of washing, drying, ironing, stain removal, fabric care, and linen management.
• Ability to operate and monitor commercial laundry equipment.
• Good understanding of laundry chemicals, hygiene standards, and safety procedures.
• Strong leadership, staff supervision, and team coordination skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality service.
• Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Pay: ₦90,000.00 per month
