Overview

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Laundry Aide to join our team at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carrier Mills, IL. This swing shift position plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and sanitary environment for our residents.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention. Our Laundry Aides are valued members of our team who help ensure residents receive clean linens, clothing, and personal laundry in a timely and professional manner.

This position requires flexibility to work both daytime and overnight shifts on a rotating schedule.

Details

• Position: Laundry Aide – Swing Shift
• Schedule: 8 days per pay period
• Shift 1: 6:00 PM–3:00 AM
• Shift 2: 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Shift Rotation: 4 days on each shift per pay period
• Availability: Must be willing and available to work both shifts as scheduled.
• Location: Carrier Mills, IL

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing, linens, towels, and other laundry items.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all laundry is properly cleaned and sanitized according to facility policies and infection prevention guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laundry room and work environment.
• Properly separate and handle soiled and clean laundry to prevent cross-contamination.
• Label, organize, and return residents' personal clothing and belongings accurately.
• Monitor laundry supplies and notify supervisors when additional materials are needed.
• Inspect laundry equipment and report maintenance concerns or malfunctions.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of cleaning products and personal protective equipment.
• Work collaboratively with housekeeping, nursing, and other departments to meet residents' needs.
• Complete assigned laundry duties efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels of clean linens and other laundry supplies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous laundry, housekeeping, or long-term care experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and follow established procedures.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation and infection prevention practices is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a consistent work schedule.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and transport laundry loads as required.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, respect, and compassion when working around residents.
• Must be available to work both daytime and overnight shifts.
• Must be comfortable working a swing shift schedule consisting of 4 days on each shift per pay period.
