Layup Tech and Panel Press Operator

Individual needs to have basic layup skills (pre-preg fiber glass).
Knowledge of assembiling and laying up panels for press machine.

A Panel Press Operator runs machine to , shape, and laminate panels (metal, plastic, or wood) according to specifications. They ensure high-quality output by adjusting controls, monitoring machine performance, and conducting inspections. Common duties include managing production records, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Machine Setup and Operation: SDM Laminator 1200-HD, Adjusts manual controls or computerized panels for pressure, speed, and temperature. Sets up dies, stops, and guides on machinery.
• Production Monitoring: Oversees operations to ensure conformance to specifications and identifies malfunctions.
• Quality Control: Inspects finished panels for defects such as damaged edges or surfaces.
• Material Handling: Positions, aligns, and secures materials into the press.
• Maintenance: Performs routine cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting of equipment.

Requirements and Skills

• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, or pneumatic press operations.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and use measuring tools like calipers or gauges.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to handle, move, or lift heavy materials.
• Experience: Often requires previous manufacturing or machine operation experience.

Typical Work Environment
Panel press operators usually work in manufacturing or, in cases like the Panel Express system, in lamination and production, which can be fast-paced. The role may require standing for long periods and using safety gear

Pay: $18.38 - $20.15 per hour
