Overview

Courage 2 Overcome Counseling & Consulting Services, PLLC is seeking a dependable and motivated Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to join our growing team.

This is a part-time, in-person 1099 contractor position located at our Central Austin office. The selected counselor will work approximately two days per week providing substance use counseling services to adults, including individuals referred or mandated for treatment.

Our practice provides marketing, client referrals, and client assignments, allowing the counselor to focus primarily on providing quality services and maintaining timely documentation.

Responsibilities

• -Provide individual substance use counseling services and facilitate substance abuse group counseling as needed.
• -Develop individualized treatment and relapse-prevention plans.
• -Address substance use, triggers, coping skills, recovery, accountability, and behavior change.
• -Work effectively with mandated, probation, pretrial, court-involved, and other justice-involved clients.
• -Establish therapeutic rapport while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
• -Complete progress notes and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• -Maintain confidentiality and appropriate ethical and professional standards.
• -Communicate professionally with practice leadership and authorized referral sources when appropriate.
• -Maintain consistency and reliability with scheduled clients.
• -Work independently and demonstrate sound professional judgment.

Experience & Ideal candidate

• -Must hold an active Texas LCDC license in good standing.
• -Demonstrate a strong work ethic and dependability.
• -Be professional, organized, and accountable.
• -Be comfortable working with mandated and justice-involved populations.
• -Have knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery, relapse prevention, and behavior change.
• -Complete documentation in a timely manner.
• -Be culturally responsive and comfortable working with diverse populations.
• -Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• -Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
