Lead Baker

Rockwell’s Bakery is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Lead Baker to oversee daily bakery production and help lead our baking team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality products, works efficiently, and knows how to lead a team in a positive, professional, and productive way.

The Lead Baker will be responsible for making sure daily production is completed on time, according to Rockwell’s recipes and product specifications, and with consistent quality every day.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organize the bakery production team throughout each shift.
• Review daily production needs and prioritize the workload to ensure everything is completed on time.
• Keep team members on task and working efficiently.
• Ensure all products are made according to established recipes, portion sizes, appearance, and quality specifications.
• Maintain consistency from batch to batch and day to day.
• Check finished products for quality before they are sent to the bakery case or next stage of production.
• Train and coach bakers on proper recipes, techniques, procedures, and expectations.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with the bakery team and management.
• Help create a positive, team-oriented work environment while holding employees accountable.
• Identify production problems early and help find solutions before they affect orders or deadlines.
• Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages before they interrupt production.
• Minimize waste and ensure ingredients are properly rotated, labeled, dated, and stored.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production area.
• Ensure equipment is properly used, cleaned, and cared for.
• Follow and enforce all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with baking and production as needed—the Lead Baker is a hands-on leadership position.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has professional bakery or high-volume food production experience and is comfortable taking responsibility for both product quality and team performance.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and able to lead by example. This person should be able to give clear direction, correct problems professionally, motivate the team, and maintain high standards even during busy production days.

Previous lead, supervisory, or bakery production experience is strongly preferred.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
