Lead Barista

Shambhu Coffee & Gelato is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Lead Barista to help support daily café operations. This role combines hands-on beverage service with team support, helping maintain beverage quality, order accuracy, cleanliness, and a welcoming customer experience. The ideal candidate is organized, knowledgeable about café service, and comfortable helping guide coworkers during busy shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, tea, gelato, and other café offerings according to established procedures.
• Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Take customer orders accurately and assist with menu questions.
• Support and guide baristas and café team members during daily service.
• Help coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks during busy periods.
• Monitor beverage quality, presentation, and order accuracy.
• Operate the POS system and process customer transactions accurately.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked beverage and service areas.
• Replenish coffee, milk, cups, gelato supplies, and other café ingredients as needed.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and company procedures.
• Communicate customer needs, supply concerns, and operational issues to management.

Qualifications

• Previous barista, café, coffee shop, restaurant, or hospitality experience.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coffee and café beverage preparation.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused communication style.
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment.
• Good attention to beverage quality, cleanliness, and order accuracy.
• Comfortable using POS systems and learning café procedures.
• Able to support, train, and work effectively with other team members.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
