Lead Barista

Job Summary

Enchanted Coffee LA is seeking a passionate, dependable, and experienced Lead Barista to support daily café operations and help lead the barista team. The ideal candidate will prepare high-quality coffee and specialty beverages, provide knowledgeable guest service, maintain beverage standards, support team members, and help ensure smooth café operations during busy service periods.

This position is a great opportunity for an experienced barista who enjoys specialty coffee, hospitality, teamwork, and taking on additional leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and other drinks according to café standards.
• Lead barista operations during assigned shifts and support smooth service.
• Welcome guests and provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment safely.
• Monitor beverage quality, presentation, consistency, and recipe standards.
• Assist with dialing in espresso and maintaining appropriate grind and extraction settings.
• Train, coach, and support baristas and other café team members.
• Answer guest questions about coffee, beverages, menu items, and preparation methods.
• Operate the POS system and process cash and card payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked coffee bar.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, food items, and other café supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and equipment-maintenance routines.
• Help address guest requests and concerns professionally.
• Support the café team during busy service periods.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by café management.

Requirements

• Previous barista experience required; lead or senior barista experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee brewing.
• Familiarity with commercial espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to beverage quality.
• Basic POS and cash-handling experience.
• Ability to train and support other team members.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills

• Specialty coffee and espresso preparation experience.
• Knowledge of coffee beans, grind settings, extraction, and brewing methods.
• Experience training or mentoring baristas.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
