Lead Barista

Job Summary

Coffee Life Boise is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Barista to support daily café operations and help lead the barista team. The ideal candidate will prepare high-quality coffee beverages, maintain consistent service standards, assist with staff training, and help create a welcoming environment for guests. This role is suited to someone with strong coffee preparation skills and a passion for teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes.
• Lead by example and support baristas during daily service.
• Assist with training new team members in coffee preparation and café procedures.
• Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and preparation times.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment properly.
• Coordinate daily tasks and help keep café operations running smoothly.
• Welcome guests and assist with menu questions in a friendly, professional manner.
• Handle orders and payments accurately when needed.
• Monitor coffee, milk, cups, and other inventory supplies.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing duties and communicate operational needs to management.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience required; lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee brewing methods.
• Ability to coach and support team members.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and a professional, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
