Founded in 1909, Tamarack Country Club is a historic private club in Greenwich, Connecticut, consistently ranked among the top golf courses in the state. Our members expect warm, polished, and personal service, and our beverage program is a key part of that experience. We’re looking for a Lead Bartender to set the tone behind the bar and help us shape what comes next.

The Role
The Lead Bartender oversees daily bar operations and serves as the go-to leader for the bar team during service. Working closely with the F&B Manager, you’ll help build and refine the club’s bar program, including cocktail menus, seasonal offerings, and standards of service that reflect Tamarack’s tradition and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Lead bar service across the clubhouse, events, and member functions, making sure every guest interaction is gracious and professional
• Work with the F&B Manager to develop the bar program, including signature cocktails, seasonal menus, and presentation standards
• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to recipe and club standards
• Train bartenders and bar staff on recipes, techniques, product knowledge, and service etiquette
• Set the pace during busy service, delegate tasks, and support the team on the floor
• Keep the bar organized, stocked, and prepped before and after each shift
• Help with inventory counts and flag ordering needs to management
• Uphold all sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol service standards
• Get to know members’ names and preferences and build lasting relationships with them
• Support private events, tournaments, and club functions, including setup and breakdown of event bars

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bartending experience, with leadership experience preferred
• Background in a private club, fine dining, or upscale hotel preferred
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer
• Creative, with genuine interest in developing a beverage program
• Calm under pressure, organized, and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the club calendar requires
• TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred, or ability to obtain it
• Must be 21 years of age or older
