About Mooney’s
Mooney’s is a 170-seat neighborhood pizzeria and tavern on the Long Beach/Los Alamitos border. We opened in February 2026 in the old Huff’s diner and have been busy since day one. The owners are both Certified Cicerones, the draft system is immaculate, and the beer & wine list runs deep (we have a 100-beer Bucket List program for regulars). We take beer and wine seriously and take care of the people who work here.

The role
You run the bar. That means the quality of every drink, the pace of service, the condition of the draft system, and the energy behind the bar on a packed Friday night. You’ll lead a small team of bartenders, own prep and setup (bar setup starts at 2:30pm on weekdays), and be the person the floor manager leans on for anything bar-related. This is a working lead position, not a desk job. You’re behind the bar on every shift.

What you’ll do

• Lead and schedule bar prep, setup, and closing to our checklists
• Train and coach bartenders on drink specs, draft pouring, and guest service
• Maintain the draft system: line cleaning schedule, keg rotation, temperature and CO2 checks
• Keep the beer and wine menu accurate and help the owners build it
• Manage bar inventory and pars with the chef and ordering team
• Handle guest issues at the bar with judgment and hospitality
• Enforce responsible service and ID checks without exception

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years bartending in a high-volume restaurant or bar
• 1+ year leading or training other bartenders
• California RBS certification (or willing to get it before first shift)
• 21 or older
• Available Thursday through Sunday nights
• Comfortable on Toast POS or similar
• Knowledgable in beer and wine

Nice to have

• Cicerone Certified Beer Server or higher
• Draft system maintenance experience
• Wine knowledge
