What they need

Help shape our NSW practice from day one

Growth and Change PBS is an established, registered South Australian behaviour support provider, now expanding into NSW. We're looking for a highly experienced Proficient or Advanced practitioner to establish our NSW clinical practice and lead it as it grows.

This is a role where you’ll combine meaningful clinical work with the opportunity to influence practice, mentor colleagues, and build a service that genuinely improves quality of life for people with a disability.

What makes this role different

  • Operational support on the ground. The state manager is already in NSW handling setup, intake, systems and admin, so your time goes into clinical work.
  • You're not starting from scratch. Our SA practice leadership, clinical governance frameworks and supervision are already in place.
  • A defined pathway to Clinical Lead. The role grows with the practice, with hours increasing towards full-time.

Key responsibilities

Initially, you’ll deliver behaviour support across Sydney Metro and help adapt our clinical processes for the wider NSW service. As we grow and practitioners join, you’ll contribute to their selection, induction and development.

  • Completing functional behaviour assessments and developing interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans for people with complex support needs.
  • Working with participants, families, and support teams to develop practical, person-centred strategies.
  • You'll train and coach implementers to put strategies into practice, and work actively to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices.
  • Providing supervision, mentoring and plan review within your demonstrated capability
  • Building collaborative relationships with local clinicians, providers and other stakeholders.

You’ll work closely with our SA clinical leadership, with clear arrangements for clinical oversight, consultation and escalation.

How the role grows

  1. Establish: carry a caseload, build referral networks across NSW, and set up clinical processes with the operations manager.
  2. Build the team: recruit, induct and supervise the first NSW practitioners.
  3. Clinical Lead: take clinical oversight of the NSW team, with hours increasing towards full-time as the practice grows.

You'll report clinically to our Australian Practice Lead, with funded clinical supervision and professional development from a supervisor of your choice.

What we're looking for

  • Considered suitable by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, with demonstrated capability at Proficient or Advanced level under the PBS Capability Framework
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experience in supporting people with complex needs, including developing plans involving regulated restrictive practices. A commitment to rights-based, neuroaffirming and trauma-informed practice, participant choice and meaningful outcomes.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, NSW Working With Children Check, a valid driver licence and access to a vehicle for use (work travel reimbursed)

Experienced Proficient practitioners with leadership capability who are working towards Advanced are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities and supervision arrangements will reflect your capability and development needs.

What we offer

We offer a supportive work environment where your professional development is valued and encouraged. This part-time role provides flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments. We are committed to the wellbeing of our staff and provide access to a range of support services. Our organisation promotes a collaborative team culture where your contributions are recognised and appreciated.

  • $130,000 FTE, pro rata, plus super, plus bonus
  • Regular clinical supervision and a professional development plan aligned to the PBS Capability Framework
  • On-the-ground operational and admin support
  • A defined pathway to Clinical Lead
  • Laptop and mobile phone provided

Apply now

If you are a passionate behaviour support professional ready to lead and make a real difference in the lives of individuals with complex support needs, we would like to hear from you.
