What they need
Role summary
LOVO CIC is looking for an accredited brow trainer to deliver an in-person brow course to small groups of women at our new studio in Bermondsey. This is a full training programme that takes learners from beginner to confident and certified practitioner, not a one-day workshop or short taster course.
About LOVO and The Project
LOVO is an award-winning women’s centre based in Southwark, with nearly 20 years of experience in women’s personal development and wellbeing. Recognised as Community Group of the Year at the Community Southwark Stars Awards 2023, we are passionate about building strong partnerships, open communication and networks of mutual support. You can read more about our community impact and past partnerships on our website's .
Through our Community Catalyst Project, we are turning part of our space into the LOVO Brow Studio, a working, paying studio for training and treatments. Women trained at the studio will go on to work there. Over the longer term, we want accredited training here to become a stepping stone for women from under-served communities into recognised beauty qualifications, employment or their own businesses.
Main responsibilities
Teaching and course delivery
- Deliver a comprehensive, accredited brow course in person at the studio, covering theory, practical skills and supervised work.
- Teach small groups of women (ideally 6-8 people per group), giving each learner close one-to-one attention and hands-on correction.
- Run the course over multiple sessions so learners build skill and confidence step by step.
Assessment and certification
- Assess learners' theory and practical work against the awarding or accrediting body's standards.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, case studies and assessments.
- Issue, or arrange through the awarding body, a recognised certificate that allows graduates to get professional insurance.
Learner support
- Create a welcoming, patient and encouraging space for women who may be new to training or returning to learning.
- Adapt teaching to different learning needs, confidence levels and first languages.
- Give guidance on next steps: working at the LOVO studio, going freelance, or progressing to further qualifications.
Studio standards
- Model and enforce professional hygiene, health and safety and salon licensing requirements.
- Advise LOVO on the kit, products and equipment needed for training.
- Work with the LOVO team to plan cohorts, recruit live models and review the course after each cohort.
What we offer and how to apply
What we offer
- The chance to shape a new community training programme from the start, with scope for repeat cohorts.
- An equipped training space in our Bermondsey office.
- Small, focused groups so you can teach the way the craft deserves.
- Real potential for ongoing partnership beyond the project.
Contract Type
- Freelance or Sessional
Salary
- Negotiable
What You Need to Apply
- Proven Experience: Proven hands-on experience as a professional brow practitioner, with a strong portfolio across brow treatments

- Teaching Qualification: Holds a recognized teaching qualification, such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or an equivalent certification.

- Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for LOVO’s community ethos and a patient, adaptable teaching style suited to women from diverse backgrounds.
