Lead Buyer

Role & responsibilities-

• For own portfolio, lead project procurement operations (from RFQ to PO closure). This includes
  sending RFQ, Coordination with Engineering department for completing technical approval,coordination with Head Quarter to finalize the commercial negotiation while ensuring on time
  ordering & on time delivery of equipment as per project schedule.
• Prepare sourcing strategies to improve quality, delivery lead time and competitiveness and to
  mitigate supply chain risk.
• Develop & maintain price norms & Rate contracts.
• Manage the relationship with the suppliers: qualification, performances, disputes
• Coordinate with accounts and finance departments to process payment to sellers as per terms.
• Maintain procurement reports as per requirements.
• Handle internal and external Audit queries.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor/Master Degree Engineering, Purchasing, Business.

Relevant procurement experience in Engineering/ Project organization is essential.

Background, Skills, and Competencies

• Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in project oriented industries.
• Previous meaningful experience of establishing own purchasing strategies for the most critical segments of own portfolio and actively executing them, integrating market and requirement changes.• Strong experience in Procure to Pay operational day to day: able to manage the operational purchasing process up to receiving bids and preparing comparison table, able to support proposal requirements or procurement details (RFQs).
• Proven experience with the management of a panel of suppliers, i.e.:
• Searching for and qualifying new suppliers as per Group Level Strategy
• Assessing the performances of the current suppliers and seeing they develop to the required levels
• You will also be responsible for anticipating risks and opportunities in all phases of the purchasing process and influencing the definition of requirements and specifications by providing market intel.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of purchasing processes/procedures and their interaction with other processes
• Good understanding of Energy business
• Should have hands on experience of SAP.
• Thorough understanding of commercial terms and conditions as they apply to the boiler/utility industry
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Fluent in English, to have a good command of English is key to communicate with international suppliers, and also with colleagues located worldwide (Europe and US)
• Knowledge of MS Office, MS outlook.
• You are willing to travel occasionally, particularly for visits to international suppliers
