New Spaces is an established residential design-build remodeling company with more than 40 years of experience transforming homes throughout the Twin Cities. We are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, enjoys working with people, and is ready to take ownership of projects from start to finish.

This is a long-term career opportunity for a skilled carpenter who wants more than just another construction job. Our Lead Carpenters are an important part of the entire remodeling process, working directly with homeowners, designers, project management, and our trusted trade partners.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for both hands-on carpentry and on-site project leadership, including:

• Perform high-quality rough and finish carpentry
• Lead residential remodeling projects on site
• Coordinate day-to-day activities with trade partners and subcontractors
• Review and work from project plans, specifications, and selections
• Communicate regularly and professionally with homeowners
• Collaborate with our designers and production team
• Help maintain project schedules and keep work moving efficiently
• Identify field conditions and communicate potential issues before they become problems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
• Ensure work meets New Spaces' standards for craftsmanship and client experience
• Assist with project completion, punch-list items, and final details

What We're Looking For

The right candidate will have:

• Strong experience in residential remodeling and carpentry
• Excellent rough and finish carpentry skills
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and trade partners
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Professional communication skills with homeowners and coworkers
• Ability to work independently while being part of a larger team
• Attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship
• A positive, dependable, and professional approach to work
