We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to run carpentry on our residential remodeling jobs in the City of Boston, working hands-on and leading the crew on-site.

Duties;

Lead day-to-day carpentry on residential remodeling projects — bathrooms, kitchens, additions, and full gut renovations — in Boston and surrounding communities. Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately lay out and execute framing, trim, and finish carpentry. Install doors, windows, cabinetry, siding, drywall, and fixtures with precision and adherence to safety standards. Fabricate custom wood components and perform repairs or restorations as needed on-site, including work in older and historic Boston housing stock. Direct and coordinate carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors on the job; keep the Project Manager informed of progress, issues, and material needs; maintain daily job logs. Use hand and power tools for woodworking, framing, and finishing efficiently and safely. Assist with masonry, tile, flooring, and plastering when required; handle and maneuver lumber and building materials on-site, including heavy lifting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and enforce tool-safety protocols with the crew.

REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience in residential remodeling carpentry (framing through finish) with a strong understanding of blueprint reading and construction estimating; experience leading a crew preferred. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, woodworking machinery, and metal stud framing equipment. Working knowledge of construction plans, technical drawings, and building codes relevant to residential projects in Massachusetts. Hands-on skill in drywall installation, caulking, fixture installation, siding, door hanging, cabinet installation, and water damage restoration. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail through all phases of the work. Construction site experience with a focus on safety practices, including power tool safety and proper handling of materials. OSHA 10 preferred. Additional experience in mold remediation, flooring, tile, plastering, or restoration work is an advantage. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites in the City of Boston and Greater Boston.
