Lead Carpenter/Supervisor

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Carpenter/Supervisor to oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is vital in managing skilled tradespeople, coordinating project schedules, interpreting technical drawings, and maintaining compliance with construction regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and proficiency with construction management software to drive projects forward with precision and enthusiasm. As a key team leader, you will motivate your crew, uphold safety standards, and deliver exceptional results that meet client expectations.

Duties

• Lead and supervise carpentry crews on commercial construction sites, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide project execution
• Manage daily site operations, including quality control, safety compliance per OSHA and federal regulations, and adherence to construction regulations
• Oversee subcontractor activities and manage crew assignments to ensure seamless workflow across all phases of the project
• Conduct regular safety meetings, enforce OSHA standards, and ensure all team members follow proper safety protocols including heavy equipment operation with appropriate certifications such as Ohmmeter use for electrical checks

Skills

• Extensive experience in heavy commercial construction with a strong background in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards
• Skilled in project scheduling coordination and construction drawing review to ensure accurate implementation of plans
• Strong knowledge of federal construction safety regulations (OSHA) and general construction safety management practices
• Excellent communication skills for supervising crews, managing client expectations, and collaborating with project stakeholders
• Ability to handle budgeting tasks related to crew management and material procurement while maintaining quality standards
