Lead Chemist

Ecolab has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Chemist to join our organization. This role will be a part of our Operational Innovation (OI) team, based out of our Bangkok RD&E office. This candidate will work with AP Research Development & Engineering (RD&E), BU Marketing and Supply Chain (SC) teams and responsible for providing technical support to drive internal efficiency programs. He or she will help coordinate, drive, and execute material substitution and consolidation projects to enable growth, savings, and security of supply. This candidate will also be accountable for enabling the selection of preferred materials for innovation and reformulation.

What you will do:

·         Lead OI projects by working as gatekeeper to align priority with SC and RD&E stakeholders, and effectively communicating requirements and timelines for the implementation of OI projects

·         Supports cross functional teams and business units to develop/maintain materials and/or processes that support productivity to enable growth, savings, and security of supply.

·         Identifies new material application opportunities for inclusion into division product lines.

·         Uses application knowledge to support the development of preferred materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Material Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline and 8+ years of related experience or Master’s Degree and 5+ years of related experience or PhD and 3-5 years of related experience.

·         3+ years of significant experience in product development and project management.

·         3+ years of experience working in a technical service, manufacturing support, or quality role.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Ability to build collaborative relationships.

·         Excellent problem-solving and quantitative analytical skills.

·         Strong project management skills (time management and resource allocation).

·         Proven track record of successful project management in areas of formulating, quality issue resolution, product development, and plant transfer/production scale up.

·         Understanding of raw material structure, property, and/or function in key product lines.

·         Self-starter.
