Lead climber/team leader

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Climber/Team Leader to spearhead our tree surgery business . In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of skilled climbers and ground staff , ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of , tree pruning, and all aspects of our tree work projects. Your expertise will help maintain beautiful, healthy landscapes while upholding safety standards and fostering team collaboration. Duties

• Lead and coordinate climbing teams during tree reductions, tree felling, pruning trees and all aspects tree work to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment such as wood chippers, stump grinders, chainsaws and climbing equipment
• Conduct inspections of work sites to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
• Train and mentor team members on climbing techniques, equipment operation, horticultural practices, and safety procedures.
• Manage equipment maintenance schedules for tools like chainsaws, pruning shears, and other landscaping machinery.
• Collaborate with project managers to plan daily tasks, allocate resources effectively, and meet project deadlines.
• Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools, hand tools.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team in outdoor environments.
• Knowledge of safety standards for climbing at heights and working with heavy machinery; certification in fall protection or climbing safety is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for training team members and coordinating with clients or project managers.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime during projects.
