We Need a Working Leader Who Can Produce Parts

Mescalero Manufacturing is looking for a dependable and highly experienced Lead CNC Mill Machinist.

We are a growing Odessa machine shop with more than 26 machines and steady oilfield work. We need someone who can take ownership of the milling department, lead from the front, and consistently get quality parts out the door.

This is a hands on position. We are not looking for someone who only wants to supervise from an office. You will be expected to set up machines, run production, solve problems, and help other machinists improve.

We are willing to pay top dollar, but top dollar requires top level performance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills independently
• Run both horizontal and vertical CNC mills
• Read and understand prints, tolerances, and specifications
• Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Edit programs and make adjustments at the machine
• Inspect completed parts and maintain quality
• Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and production problems
• Help train and guide other machinists
• Organize work and keep machines producing
• Work closely with management to meet delivery dates
• Maintain a safe and organized work area
• Work 50 to 60 hours per week
• Show up every scheduled day and arrive on time

Requirements

• Strong CNC milling experience
• Proven ability to complete setups independently
• Experience with Fanuc controls preferred
• Experience with horizontal and vertical mills preferred
• Ability to read prints and use precision measuring equipment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Dependable attendance
• Ability to work overtime consistently
• Ability to produce quality parts without constant supervision

Pay

Pay ranges from $34 to $50 per hour based on proven ability, attendance, leadership, versatility, and production.

The full $50 per hour is reserved for a proven machinist who can independently set up and run both CNC mills and CNC lathes, lead other employees, solve problems, and consistently produce quality parts.

Experience alone does not qualify someone for top pay. Performance, dependability, leadership, and versatility do.

Overtime is paid after 40 hours.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Some Saturdays as needed
• 50 to 60 hours per week
• Overtime available and expected
