Lead - Construction

Role & responsibilities

• Assisting Site head for CPP (Captive Power Plant) to Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion covering all disciplines and should be proactive in all fields.
• Shall lead a team of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, Site Admin, Quality, Safety (shared) and report to HO.
• Shall coordinate with other Site heads of Utility plants / Petchem facilities projects which are under execution in parallel with captive power plant for timely completion of the works relevant to CPP terminal points, IN & OUT (Power Supply/ Water etc.)
• Shall assist site head to coordinate with Security, Base Manager, Finance & Accounts and HR for any logistics and site related works.
• Ensuring stage wise monitoring of the project as per workloads and work front etc.
• Review of the construction program Daily / Weekly / Monthly, Identifying reasons for backlogs and taking corrective action to avoid re-occurrence.
• Oversee and controls all onsite construction activities to monitor compliance with Quality requirements. Conduct daily meetings with all contractors to ensure project timeline.
• Reviews and controls the project schedule and Cost.
• Select tools, materials, equipment, and track inventory of all and submits Monthly and weekly reports to HO.
• Should be an efficient planner and should give 1 week, 3 week and next month look ahead schedule for requirement of Resources, Manpower, equipment, Materials etc. to ensure Project progress is not hampered.

Requirement:

• Minimum 20 + years relevant proven experience in Gas based Simple & Combined cycle power plant projects construction from the stage of site development and establishment activities.
• Work experience as site head of EPC Company in execution of combined cycle power plant project for Petchem facilities (LNG, FERTILIZERS, METHANOL, POLYMERS) with heavy duty Gas turbines of F Class / E Class Machine (OR) with other Industrial Duty GT Machines in simple cycle and later project expansion to CCPP configuration.
• Should have the knowledge about an ideology behind the Captive power plant Equipments configuration, Construction sequence, Commissioning & Operational philosophies.
• Readiness to travel and stay as single status at site.
• Readiness to be at site based, Nigeria (100%)
• Previous international experience is required. Previous experience with projects Executed in Nigeria / Western African countries are highly desired.
• Effective oral and written communications and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with the design team in the resolution of project related issues.
• Past Experience coordinating with Chinese construction company is an added advantage.
