Lead Control4 Technician / Smart Home Integrator

Avatronix is hiring a full-time Lead Control4 Technician / Smart Home Integrator serving Grayson County and North Texas.

We are looking for an experienced technician who can independently program, troubleshoot, install, and service Control4 systems. Hands-on Control4 installation and programming experience is required.

Our work includes home automation, audio/video, Napco security, motorized shades, networking, lighting control, surveillance cameras, access control, and structured wiring.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential integration projects from pre-wire through final installation, programming, testing, and customer handoff.
• Program and troubleshoot Control4 systems using Composer Pro.
• Install and service controllers, touchscreens, remotes, audio/video equipment, and lighting controls.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless access points, and network-connected equipment.
• Install and service security systems, cameras, and motorized shades.
• Read construction plans, follow scopes of work, and communicate field issues promptly.
• Prepare for scheduled work by verifying required equipment, materials, and tools.
• Guide and train a junior technician.
• Keep time entries, job notes, photos, materials used, and work-order status current in ProjX360 and company documentation systems.
• Communicate professionally with customers, builders, electricians, and the project manager.
• Maintain clean, organized job sites, equipment racks, and company vehicles.

Required experience and qualifications

• Proven Control4 installation, programming, and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to complete service calls and lead installations independently.
• Strong understanding of residential networking and Wi-Fi.
• Experience with residential audio/video and low-voltage integration.
• Familiarity with security systems and motorized shades.
• Reliable attendance, clear communication, and consistent follow-through.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred experience

Napco security, Screen Innovations shades, Araknis, OvrC, Luma cameras, lighting control, access control, and ProjX360. Control4 certification and experience leading technicians are preferred.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, typically 30–50 hours per week depending on project workload. Most work is local or regional. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.
