What You'll Do:

As a Lead Cook, you'll do more than prepare great meals—you'll help lead daily kitchen operations and ensure residents enjoy quality, delicious meals that meet their individual dietary needs and preferences. You'll work alongside the culinary team to maintain high standards for food preparation, presentation, safety, and sanitation while helping coordinate meal service and special events. When department leadership is away, you'll step into a leadership role to keep kitchen operations running smoothly, support team members, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for our residents.

  • Ensure meals are prepared accurately and on time while accommodating residents' dietary needs, food allergies, and individual preferences.
  • Help lead daily kitchen operations, providing guidance and support to dining services team members.
  • Serve as the designated manager on duty in the absence of the Executive Chef or department leadership, overseeing daily operations and staffing needs.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, portioning, and meal service to ensure consistency and resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by ensuring compliance with food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, food and supply ordering, receiving deliveries, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
  • Complete required department documentation, including temperature logs, inventory records, and other operational reports.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring cleaning responsibilities and assigned tasks are completed.
  • Coordinate food preparation and service for special events, catering requests, and resident dining needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with department leadership, team members, and other departments to support efficient dining operations.
  • Assist with team training, daily meetings, and continuous improvements to dining services. Address resident concerns and dining requests promptly and professionally, helping create a positive dining experience.
