YOUR ROLE

As a Lead Cost Control Engineer, you will have the following key responsibilities including but not limited to:

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Develop, maintain, and control project budgets in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare accurate cost forecasts and update budgets based on project scope changes, schedule revisions, and resource requirements.
• Support Project Managers in managing budget allocations and achieving financial objectives.

Cost Tracking & Monitoring

• Monitor actual project expenditures against approved budgets and identify cost variances.
• Ensure all project costs are accurately captured and maintained within project cost control systems.
• Provide regular cost performance updates and financial insights to project and commercial management teams.

Change Management & Cost Variance Analysis

• Assess the financial impact of project changes and incorporate approved changes into revised forecasts.
• Conduct cost variance analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved project performance.
• Prepare and review change orders, variation cost estimates, and cost variance reports.

Financial Reporting

• Generate periodic cost reports, budget utilization reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial performance summaries.
• Support management with trend analysis, financial presentations, and project performance reporting.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and actionable reporting to facilitate informed decision-making.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of extensive experience within the Oil & Gas, Civil, or Power sectors.
• Proven track record of managing cost controls for large-scale EPC projects involving complex contracts and high-value budgets.
• Strong expertise in: Project Cost Control, Budgeting & Forecasting, Risk Assessment & Mitigation, Financial Management, Cash Flow Planning, Cost Variance Analysis, Change Management, Contract Administration, Financial Reporting.

Education / Training / Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Master's Degree or additional specialization is an advantage.
• Professional Engineering certification, Chartered Engineer status, PMP, or equivalent certifications preferred.

Skills/Competencies

• Strong analytical and financial acumen.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of cost control systems and project controls methodologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced EPC environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
