Lead Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer – Marketing Analytics to support the Marketing Intelligence function. The role will focus on developing, maintaining, and publishing Power BI dashboards and reports while supporting the data foundation that powers business intelligence and reporting.

The successful candidate will translate analytical outputs into clear, governed, and decision-ready visualizations for senior stakeholders. This role will enable the internal analytics team to focus on strategic analysis, generating insights, and driving commercial outcomes, while ensuring consistent, accurate, and high-quality reporting delivery.

This position is part of a GCC / outsourced capacity engagement and requires strong technical expertise in Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and dashboard performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and publish Power BI dashboards and reports across customer segmentation, marketing performance, eCommerce, and spend optimization.
• Translate analytical outputs into actionable, stakeholder-ready visualizations that support business decisions.
• Design and manage data models, semantic models, and DAX calculations within Power BI.
• Optimize dashboard performance, data models, and report usability.
• Establish and maintain reporting standards, templates, documentation, and data refresh schedules.
• Support the development of a consistent performance intelligence framework to make insights accessible and actionable across business functions.
• Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries against source systems to support dashboard and reporting requirements.
• Perform data cleanup and mapping updates related to reporting needs, in collaboration with the internal analytics team.
• Identify and escalate data pipeline, tracking, and data quality issues to the appropriate stakeholders, implementing fixes within the scope of the role.
• Collaborate closely with the internal analytics team, which retains ownership of analytical validation, classification standards, and output accuracy.
• Ensure reports align with the single source of truth for customer records and comply with established data governance standards.
• Manage ad hoc reporting requests through a structured intake process, clarifying business objectives and the decisions to be supported before commencing development.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Mandatory Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI , including data modeling, DAX, dashboard development, report publishing, and performance tuning.
• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to query and work with large transactional datasets.
• Excellent data visualization skills and the ability to convert complex analytical outputs into clear, meaningful business insights.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with CRM, eCommerce, marketing analytics, or customer intelligence datasets.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration concepts.
• Exposure to Python or R for statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
• Experience supporting churn propensity, customer lifetime value (LTV), propensity scoring, or lookalike modeling.
• Understanding of machine learning frameworks and model operationalization.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and publishing Power BI dashboards and reports in a business intelligence, marketing analytics, or data analytics environment.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, data modeling, DAX, and reporting performance optimization.
• Experience working with large datasets and translating business requirements into effective reporting solutions.
• Exposure to data pipeline development, ETL processes, and predictive analytics is an advantage.

Work Environment

The role is designed for a remote / GCC working arrangement. The individual will collaborate virtually with internal analytics teams and business stakeholders and may be required to participate in meetings across different time zones or outside standard business hours, depending on business requirements.
