Lead Data Scientist

About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced Lead Data Scientist to develop production-ready machine learning solutions, work with complex datasets, and help deliver data-driven products and business improvements at scale within a technology-driven organisation expanding its Data Science capability in Bangkok.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models for business and product applications
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights
• Work closely with Software Engineering, Product, and business teams to turn business challenges into practical Data Science solutions
• Improve existing models, algorithms, and analytical approaches to enhance performance and business outcomes
• Explore and evaluate new Machine Learning and Data Science techniques that could be applied to real-world use cases
• Support the development of scalable and reliable Data Science solutions from experimentation through to production
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to best practices across the Data Science team

Skills and Requirements

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related area
• Strong understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Statistics, and predictive modelling
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Experience working with large datasets and modern data processing technologies
• Practical experience with Machine Learning libraries, frameworks, and open-source technologies
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• Able to work independently, take ownership, and contribute as a senior member of a collaborative Data Science team
• Exposure to areas such as NLP, Computer Vision, Recommendation Systems, or Personalisation would be beneficial
• Experience working with distributed data processing or Big Data environments would be advantageous
• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, or another quantitative discipline is preferred
