We are a privately owned general dentistry practice located in the St. Johns/St. Augustine area near County Road 210. We have proudly served our community for over 18 years and are looking for a strong, experienced, and dependable Lead Dental Assistant to join our small, fun, team-oriented office.

We are looking for someone who is confident, organized, proactive, and able to take the lead in the clinical setting. Our ideal candidate is an experienced dental assistant who can anticipate the doctor's needs, keep the day running smoothly, and is comfortable assisting with a variety of procedures.

Experience with orthodontic scanning, crown procedures, endodontics, digital scanning, and expanded functions is strongly preferred.

• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Lunch: 1 hour
• Pay: $19.00–$25.00/hour, based on experience

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a strong lead assistant who can confidently support the doctor and help keep the clinical side of the practice organized and efficient.

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Orthodontic digital scanning / intraoral scanning — strongly preferred
• Crown procedures, including cord packing and digital scans
• Endodontic procedures
• Restorative dentistry
• Dental X-rays
• Impressions and digital impressions
• Treatment plan presentation
• Expanded functions within Florida guidelines and applicable certifications
• Working independently while also being a strong team player
• Anticipating the doctor's needs and staying one step ahead
• Maintaining an organized, clean, and fully stocked clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical assisting flow and help keep the schedule running efficiently
• Assist the dentist during restorative, crown, endodontic, and other procedures
• Set up and break down operatories
• Take dental X-rays
• Perform sterilization and maintain infection control protocols
• Pack cord and assist with crown procedures
• Perform digital scanning for crowns, nightguards, and orthodontic needs
• Take impressions as needed
• Assist with expanded functions according to Florida guidelines and certifications
• Present treatment plans and obtain required consent forms
• Review post-treatment instructions with patients
• Complete patient walk-out appointments and schedule follow-up appointments when needed
• Maintain organized, clean, and well-stocked operatories
• Help train and support other team members when appropriate
• Assist with front-office duties when needed
• Help create a positive, efficient, and professional patient experience
