I’m partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturer of low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment that is expanding its engineering organization across multiple U.S. locations.
They are hiring Lead Design Engineers across both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to provide hands-on technical leadership for the design and manufacture of engineered electrical equipment.
These are not purely management positions .

- Industrial control equipment
- Other engineered-to-order electrical equipment
Direct switchgear or switchboard experience is strongly preferred , particularly for the Electrical Lead position.

Experience with applicable standards such as UL 891, UL 1558, ANSI/IEEE C37.20.2 and C37.20.3 is highly valuable depending on the product line.
Mechanical Engineering Background
For the Lead Mechanical Engineering opportunity, we're particularly interested in engineers who have designed manufactured electrical equipment, enclosures and assemblies.
Relevant experience may include:
- Sheet-metal enclosure and cabinet design
- Switchgear / switchboard mechanical design

- Equipment layouts
- Material selection
- Tolerancing / GD&T
- Fasteners and joining methods
- Ventilation and thermal management
- Production drawings
- BOM development
- Engineering change orders
- DFM / DFA
- Fabrication and assembly support
Ideal Experience
- 7–10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of relevant hands-on equipment/product design experience
- Experience designing equipment that was actually manufactured
- Strong design ownership rather than solely specification, sales, field service or commissioning experience
- Experience supporting manufacturing and resolving production issues
- Technical leadership, mentoring and/or design-review experience
