Lead Developer SAP S4

Gyansys is seeking a visionary and highly technical SAP Development Lead to oversee our on-premises enterprise development environment. In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating traditional RICEFW delivery while guiding our systems into a modern 'Clean Core' paradigm through Key User Extensibility. Additionally, you will spearhead technical initiatives to prepare, build, and optimize SAP-driven AI capabilities, transforming operational data into high-value intelligent outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

1. RICEFW Engineering & Delivery

• Reports & Interfaces: Lead the design and construction of high-performance custom reporting solutions (ALV, CDS Views) and seamless application integrations using ALE/IDocs, RFCs, and BAPIs. Expert in designing, developing, and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions.
• Conversions & Enhancements: Formulate standard data conversion strategies (LSMW, LTMC) and manage safe transactional overrides utilizing User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, and the Enhancement Framework.
• Forms & Workflows: Govern standard output designs (Adobe Forms, Smart Forms) and coordinate business process routing through SAP Business Workflow architectures.

2. Key User Extensibility & Clean Core Governance

• In-App Customization: Establish strict governance boundaries defining when to use standard Key User Extensibility (Custom Fields, Custom Business Logic apps) versus classic custom ABAP.
• Power-User Enablement: Safeguard on-premises infrastructure by auditing low-code/no-code enhancements created directly by functional specialists via Fiori-based extensibility tools.
• Upgrade Readiness: Maintain system upgrade path integrity by actively separating custom enhancements from the SAP standard core application layers.

3. Team Leadership & Architectural Governance

• Technical Mentorship: Direct and review code deliverables for an onshore/offshore team of ABAP and UI5/Fiori developers, ensuring compliance with ATC quality checks.
• Specification Engineering: Transform high-level functional specification documents into granular, developer-ready technical blueprints.

4. Enterprise AI & Intelligence Capability Optimization

• AI-Ready Data Pipelines: Architect secure, high-throughput Semantic Data Layers utilizing Core Data Services (CDS Views) and OData services to pipe enterprise context cleanly to downstream AI engines.
• Intelligent automation: Co-develop integration strategies embedding predictive analytics, Machine Learning models, or Generative AI platforms with SAP functional workflows.
• Smart Process Engineering: Identify legacy optimization areas where classic custom ABAP code can be augmented or replaced with intelligent processing mechanics.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Stack: 8+ years of hands-on experience in ABAP Objects, Core Data Services (CDS), OData publishing, and SAPUI5/Fiori development.
• Integration & Middleware: Deep understanding of on-premises connectivity standards, including BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, and SAP Process Orchestration (PO) or SAP Gateway.
• Extensibility Paradigms: Practical mastery of SAP Modern Extensibility patterns, explicitly managing the governance of in-app Extensibility tools.
• Data & AI Literacy: Foundational knowledge of modern machine learning workflows, large language model integrations, or exposure to advanced data pipeline engineering.
• Leadership: Prior experience acting as a Technical Lead supervising blended global delivery structures and SAP S4 modernization.
