Lead Diesel Technician

Wooster Motor Ways, a family-owned trucking company known for safe, reliable, and on-time service, is looking for a Lead Diesel Technician to join our Columbus shop location. What You’ll Do

• Lead and support a team of diesel technicians in daily shop operations
• Diagnose and repair Class 8 tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment
• Perform advanced repairs (engines, brakes, electrical, suspension, etc.)
• Prioritize and assign work to technicians to minimize downtime and support dispatch schedules
• Ensure all work meets DOT regulations, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications
• Help guide/direct workflow
• Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and parts inventory
• Drive completion of preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to protect fleet reliability
• Promote and enforce a safety-first culture in alignment with WMW’s strong safety history
• Train, mentor, and develop technicians to build a high-performing, reliable team
• Partner with operations and dispatch to ensure equipment availability and operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of diesel/heavy truck repair experience
• Leadership or lead tech experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with air brakes, electrical systems, and trailers
• CDL a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
