Lead Doorknocker
Final Touch Painting | Upper Arlington, Ohio | Part-Time, Field-Based Leadership Opportunity
Position Overview
Are you a motivated, hands-on leader who enjoys working outdoors, connecting with people, and helping a team succeed? Final Touch Painting is looking for a Lead Doorknocker to build, coach, and lead a neighborhood marketing team while generating new painting estimate appointments throughout the Upper Arlington area.
This is a part-time, field-based leadership role for someone who is ready to lead by example. You will spend most of your time in the field knocking on doors, generating leads, training team members, and helping your team achieve weekly performance goals.
This is not a sales-closing role. Your goal is to connect with homeowners, introduce Final Touch Painting's services, and schedule appointments for painting estimates. Our sales team handles the estimates and closing process.
You'll have the opportunity to develop valuable leadership, communication, coaching, and marketing skills while building a foundation for future career advancement.
Position Details
- Schedule: 2:00 PM–7:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed, depending on weather and business demands
- Hours: Part-time, with approximately 16–20 hours per week of personal door-knocking activity
- Location: Upper Arlington, Ohio, and surrounding service areas
- Transportation: Reliable personal vehicle required; public transportation is not sufficient for this role
- Experience: Entry-level leadership experience is welcome; prior management experience is not required
Key Responsibilities1. Neighborhood Marketing & Team Leadership
- Build, develop, and lead a team of neighborhood marketers responsible for generating painting estimate appointments.
- Help recruit, interview, select, and onboard new doorknockers.
- Train team members on door-knocking techniques, customer engagement, appointment setting, and company expectations.
- Lead by example by actively knocking on doors and meeting your own lead-generation commitments, as outlined in your employment contract and ARP.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions, team meetings, and performance reviews to help team members improve.
- Motivate the team, establish clear expectations, and hold team members accountable for weekly goals.
- Plan and execute neighborhood marketing initiatives, including strategic yard sign placement and other approved local campaigns.
- Monitor marketing materials and inventory, track associated costs, and identify opportunities to improve marketing efficiency and return on investment.
2. Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Participate in weekly team meetings and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- Door-knocking activity and homeowner engagement
- Leads generated and painting estimate appointments scheduled
- Appointment conversion rates
- Individual and team performance against weekly goals
- Marketing expenses and return on investment (ROI)
- Maintain accurate records of contractor agreements, work activity, and payroll-related information to support timely and accurate payments.
- Identify performance gaps, recommend improvements, and implement coaching plans to help the team achieve its targets.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities to leadership.
3. Personal & Team Development
- Participate in daily AI-assisted coaching and self-assessment to continuously improve your skills and leadership effectiveness.
- Attend regional training camps and role-playing sessions with other teams to share best practices and strengthen performance.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions to develop individual team members.
- Complete the company's door-knocking certification process and support team members in achieving certification.
- Continue developing your own field marketing, communication, coaching, and leadership capabilities.
