About the Company Our client is an established UAE-based construction and engineering organization delivering projects across permanent building structures and temporary facilities. The company provides multidisciplinary engineering and construction solutions for commercial, industrial, residential and institutional developments, including site offices, modular buildings, construction camps and temporary utility infrastructure. The organization works on technically demanding projects requiring strong compliance with UAE authority regulations, international engineering standards, QA/QC requirements and project-specific specifications.

Job Purpose We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer to lead and manage electrical engineering and design activities across permanent buildings and temporary construction facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical design, engineering calculations, multidisciplinary coordination, technical documentation, authority compliance, site support, testing and commissioning, while ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with approved specifications, schedules and quality standards.

Salary: 15K-18K AED + food + transportation + Accomodation + medical + air ticket allowance

Offshore Work assignments with 5 months on work / 1-month paid leave rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, review and approval of electrical systems, drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematics, load calculations and BOQs.
• Design electrical systems for permanent buildings and temporary construction facilities.
• Handle LV power distribution, lighting systems, emergency lighting, earthing & bonding, generators, UPS systems, HVAC power, ELV and fire alarm integration.
• Develop and review electrical load schedules, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, short-circuit requirements and associated engineering calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable UAE authority regulations and international standards, including ADCD, ADDC, DEWA, DCD, IEC, BS and NFPA requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Civil, Architectural, Structural and ELV teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Review engineering drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical reports and other project documentation.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve electrical design and site-related technical issues.
• Oversee electrical installation, inspection, testing and commissioning activities in accordance with approved drawings and QA/QC requirements.
• Design and manage temporary power distribution systems, including power supply, load management, lighting, earthing and protection systems for site facilities, camps and modular buildings.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and local authorities for technical clarifications, inspections and approvals.
• Ensure electrical works comply with project safety requirements, fire protection standards and approved safe working practices.
• Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate engineering solutions and corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers, allocate engineering activities and monitor the timely completion of design deliverables.
• Support project teams in achieving engineering milestones, authority approvals and successful project handover.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant electrical engineering/design experience, preferably within the UAE construction industry.
• Strong experience in electrical design for buildings, construction projects and/or temporary facilities.
• Hands-on knowledge of LV systems, power distribution, lighting design, earthing & bonding, generators, UPS, ELV and fire alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of UAE authority requirements, particularly ADCD, ADDC, DEWA and DCD.
• Good knowledge of international standards including IEC, BS and NFPA.
• Experience with construction-site temporary power distribution and electrical load management is highly desirable.
• Experience working on ADNOC projects will be an added advantage.
• Ability to review electrical drawings, calculations, BOQs, technical submittals and engineering documentation.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and site problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and team leadership skills.

Preferred Profile Candidates currently working as Lead Electrical Engineer, Lead Electrical Design Engineer, Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Senior Electrical Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer or Electrical Project Engineer within construction, MEP, EPC, engineering consultancy or contracting environments are encouraged to apply. Candidates with strong UAE project experience and exposure to both permanent building electrical systems and temporary construction facilities will be preferred.
