Lead Electrical Engineer

Onyx Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Building Services consultancy to recruit a Lead Electrical Engineer for either their Tauranga or Waikato office.
This is a genuine leadership opportunity for an experienced Building Services Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step in their career. You'll lead an established team of six engineers and technicians, oversee the delivery of complex projects, and play a key role in the ongoing growth and success of the business.
Working across a strong pipeline of healthcare, commercial, education, industrial and mixed-use developments, you'll combine technical leadership, people management and client engagement while building a clear pathway toward management.
The Role

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 6 Electrical Engineers and Technicians
• Manage the delivery of electrical building services projects from concept design through to completion
• Provide technical leadership across power, lighting, communications, security and low-voltage systems
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors and key stakeholders
• Support project planning, resource management and commercial performance
• Drive the continued growth and development of the regional electrical team

About You

• Degree qualified Electrical Engineer
• 7+ years' experience within a New Zealand Building Services consultancy
• Strong technical design and project delivery capability
• Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading project teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ambition to progress into management and broader business leadership
