We believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every member can thrive and make a meaningful impact. Join us, and be part of a team that values courage, compassion, and dedication to public service. Help us to keep Wiltshire safe.

About our DDaT Services team

At Wiltshire Police, we're transforming policing through Digital, Data and Technology. We recognise that DDaT is no longer simply an enabler of policing; it is a strategic capability at the heart of how we protect communities, empower our workforce and deliver better public services. As we evolve from a traditional ICT function into a modern, user-centred DDaT organisation, we're embracing cloud technologies, automation, AI, data and digital innovation to create smarter, more connected and resilient services. Join us at the start of an ambitious transformation, where you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of digital policing, work with emerging technologies, influence meaningful change and build a rewarding career that makes a real difference to our organisation and the communities we serve.

About the role

As Lead End User Computing Engineer, you will lead the technologies that enable officers and staff to work securely, efficiently and effectively wherever policing happens. From desktops, laptops, mobile devices and body-worn video technology to modern workplace and AI-enabled services, you will shape the future of end user computing across Wiltshire Police. Working across multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and stakeholders, you will drive innovation, automation, resilience and continual improvement, ensuring colleagues have access to secure, reliable and high-performing technology that supports operational policing and delivers an outstanding user experience.

What you will be doing

Lead the performance, security, resilience and user experience of End User Computing services across Wiltshire Police.

Own the end-to-end lifecycle of workplace technology, including desktops, laptops, mobiles, tablets, body worn videos, peripherals and associated digital services.

Define and assure technical, security and configuration standards, ensuring solutions are secure by design and fit for operational policing.

Lead device deployment, refresh and modern endpoint management programmes, delivering reliable and cost-effective technology services.

Manage technology suppliers and contracts, ensuring strong performance, value for money and compliance with security standards.

Use service data and operational insight to improve device health, service performance, user satisfaction and technology outcomes.

Drive continual improvement through standardisation, automation, modern device management and enhanced user productivity.

About you and your experience

Experience leading End User Computing services; desktop, mobile or workplace technology services within a complex Digital, Data and Technology environment.

Strong knowledge of endpoint management, device lifecycle management, workplace technology and operational support.

Experience delivering secure, resilient and user-centred technology services using modern management and automation practices.

The ability to lead technical teams, manage suppliers and drive positive outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
