Lead Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to lead engineering design and project delivery for Analyzer Systems within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical industries.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage technical deliverables, guide engineers and work closely with customers, suppliers and regional teams to deliver reliable and cost-effective engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and costing of Analyzer Systems, including Sample Handling Systems, analyzers, racks, cabinets and shelters.
• Translate customer and project requirements into practical engineering solutions, tasks and timelines.
• Work closely with Project Managers to identify technical risks and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
• Lead workload planning and provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to Project Engineers and junior team members.
• Review and improve engineering processes, standards, documentation and best practices.
• Source and evaluate analyzers, sample system components and other technical products.
• Provide technical support to customers and resolve engineering or system-related issues.
• Support the Sales team with technical proposals and competitive project cost estimation.
• Collaborate with regional and international offices on projects when required.
• Conduct post-project reviews and apply lessons learned to improve future project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• Diploma or Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Process Automation or Analyzer Systems.
• Knowledge of process analyzers, analytical instrumentation and Sample Handling Systems is highly advantageous.
• Experience leading projects, engineers or technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and customer communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and communicate confidently with customers, suppliers, project teams and stakeholders at different levels.
• Good command of written and spoken English for technical documentation and project communication.
• Mandarin proficiency would be advantageous for communicating with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers and regional stakeholders on technical and project matters.
• Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working independently as well as within a team.
• Willing to travel when required for regional or international projects.
