What they need
Job Description Summary
Configuration Management is a cross-functional business discipline responsible for establishing, maintaining, and controlling the approved product definition throughout the lifecycle. It ensures that parts, product structures, technical documentation, and the physical product remain aligned, traceable, and controlled.
The goal is to ensure that released product information is accurate, consistent, and complete, and that the delivered product matches what was designed, manufactured, built, operated and maintained.
The discipline includes Parts Management, Products Management, Enterprise Change Management, Unit BOM creation and release, and WT technical documentation provided to customers.
Change Management is a critical part of Configuration Management, ensuring that changes are properly identified, approved, released, and implemented so that configuration information remains accurate and synchronized across all affected functions and lifecycle stages.
The Lead Engineer Change Coordinator serves as the primary focal point for the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) and Enterprise Change Order (ECO) lifecycle. This requires proactive ownership, cross-functional alignment, and the ability to drive solutions across organizational boundaries while maintaining strict adherence to Form, Fit, Function, and Interchangeability (FFFI) principles to preserve product integrity and compatibility.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
As the Lead Change Coordinator, you will:
Change Management Leadership & Execution:
Own the ECR/ECO lifecycle end-to-end, from change initiation through implementation, ensuring all governance gates (ECA, CRB, CCB) are executed with rigor and on schedule
Drive Enterprise Change Assessments (ECA) by coordinating cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Projects) to assess impact, cost, schedule, and risk; synthesize findings into clear business recommendations
Ensure FFFI (Form, Fit, Function, and Interchangeability) compliance in all change decisions; validate that proposed changes do not violate interchangeability requirements, compromise product interfaces, or create unintended downstream impacts on subsystems, manufacturing, or field operations
Facilitate Change Review Board (CRB) and Change Control Board (CCB) meetings, presenting change proposals with clarity and ensuring leadership alignment on approval, resource allocation, and implementation strategy
Proactively identify and resolve blockers that stall change workflows—whether technical, organizational, or process-related—by aligning stakeholders and driving solutions without waiting for direction
Transform complex ECR/ECO workflows into collaborative efforts, fostering a positive atmosphere that turns administrative constraints into team wins and accelerates time-to-decision
Maintain data integrity and quality across all ECR/ECO records in PLM, ensuring traceability, completeness, and compliance with configuration management standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment:
Work closely with Product Line, Program Management, Engineering, and Global Supply Chain to identify product and project requirements that are clear, concise, and valid
Engage with manufacturing and logistics to ensure changes are feasible, cost-effective, and implementable within production constraints
Support the cut-in of new product offerings (new features and/or new products) by coordinating technical, supply chain, and manufacturing readiness
Collaborate with Configuration Product Owners (CPOs) to maintain and evolve the product portfolio; provide regular updates on current configurations and planned changes
Process Evolution & Continuous Improvement:
- Support evolution of the change management process at an enterprise level; identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Leverage external and internal best practices to identify continuous process improvement opportunities
- Support evolution of the change management process at an enterprise level to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Business Deliverables:
- Execute critical business deliverables on time: NPI (New Product Introduction), fulfillment support, and tools/process development
- Prioritize and manage high-volume change workloads while maintaining quality and stakeholder satisfaction
- Demonstrate accountability by taking ownership of outcomes regardless of hurdles; escalate and resolve issues proactively
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Engineering, Industrial Design, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Proven experience in Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in Configuration Management and/or Enterprise Change Management (e.g., ECR/ECO coordination, change governance)
- Knowledge of offshore wind turbine product architecture (from 6MW to 14MW platforms)
- Demonstrated understanding of Form, Fit, Function, and Interchangeability (FFFI) principles and ability to apply them in change management decisions to ensure product compatibility and integrity
- Proficiency with MS Office Tools
- Strong English written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly to leadership
- Experience with PLM systems (Enovia/Aras, or equivalent) and 3D CAD software
Desired Characteristics
Experience in Renewable Energy technologies
Proven track record of:
- Proactive problem-solving and stakeholder alignment across organizational boundaries
- Managing high-volume workloads with accuracy and attention to detail
- Fostering collaboration and turning constraints into opportunities
- Mentoring or supporting team members in change management disciplines
Highly accountable mindset with demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and learning
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and execute complex projects effectively within established deadlines
Self-directed and proven team leadership skills; open team player with ability to work at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills; creative problem-solving approach
Project Management mindset that includes planning, schedule commitments, and efficient resource management
Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks—stepping in to drive solutions across boundaries without waiting for direction
Build trust and collaboration with cross-functional partners, turning administrative blockers into team wins
Balance rigor with pragmatism—ensuring governance is maintained while accelerating decision-making
Inspire confidence in leadership and peers through clear communication, reliability, and commitment to quality
