Lead Engineer / Full Stack Developer

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer who enjoys both leading a team and writing production code. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help shape our engineering culture while actively contributing to the development of our products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code
• Review push/pull requests and enforce coding standards
• Maintain and improve existing legacy systems
• Lead new development projects
• Develop new features using modern technologies
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders
• Identify technical debt and propose long-term improvements
• Ensure applications follow security, performance, and SEO best practices

About you

• Experience leading or mentoring a software development team
• Able to balance technical leadership with hands-on development
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong PHP development experience
• Comfortable working with and maintaining legacy systems, including PHP 5 and CodeIgniter 3
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or React
• Strong understanding of software design principles and clean code best practices
• Knowledge and experience in secure coding practices, web application security, SEO-friendly development, performance optimization, code quality and maintainability, and Git version control
• English communication skills required; comfortable communicating with international team members, participating in technical discussions, and writing technical documentation
