Lead Engineer – Grid & Energy Storage

I’m supporting a growing organization within the energy storage sector that is looking to add a Lead Engineer – Grid & Energy Storage to its U.S. team.

This is a highly technical role focused on ensuring large-scale energy storage projects meet evolving grid requirements across the U.S.

The position will work across engineering, product and project teams, translating grid codes and interconnection requirements into practical technical requirements and identifying integration risks throughout project execution.

Key areas of experience:

• Strong understanding of U.S. grid codes, standards and interconnection requirements
• Experience with BESS, renewable generation or other inverter-based resources
• Knowledge of plant controls, PPCs, telemetry and grid-facing control systems
• Familiarity with requirements across ERCOT, CAISO, PJM and MISO
• Understanding of IEEE 2800, NERC requirements and evolving IBR standards
• Ability to translate external grid requirements into requirements for hardware, software and controls
• Experience supporting projects through grid integration, commissioning and execution
• Comfortable working across technical disciplines to identify and resolve integration risks

This role could suit someone currently working within energy storage, renewable generation, power electronics, grid integration or controls who wants to take on a broader role within the BESS market.
