What they need

Position Summary

The Lead / Senior Engineer – Global Engineering Knowledge Management serves as the central business and system focal point bridging technical standards, Engineering Design Practices (EDP), Part Readiness, and digital engineering tools across North America and global regions.

In this role, you will lead and support initiatives that connect product development processes with Teamcenter Active Workspace Component (AWC). You will be responsible for translating engineering and program management requirements into harmonized global processes, governed technical content, system enhancements, robust reporting capabilities, and comprehensive user support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Knowledge & Standards Management

  • Support the development, harmonization, and maintenance of the EDP Library as the primary technical knowledge base for component design, validation, and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate global EDP definition, RASI alignment, procedure development, and publication of harmonized engineering standards.
  • Collaborate across global regions and meta-functions to identify gaps in engineering practices, repositories, and tools, driving convergence toward unified global methods.

2. Teamcenter AWC Part Readiness–EDP System Management

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and business system manager for Teamcenter AWC Part Readiness–EDP, overseeing project configurations, component checklists, readiness assessments, revisions, system access, and deployment.
  • Partner with Engineering, PMO, Quality, and ICT teams to root-cause issues, clarify business logic, validate fixes, and ensure smooth production deployments.
  • Manage user profiles, system access, and role-based permissions across the organization.

3. Process & Tool Transformation

  • Define current-state, future-state, and transition roadmaps for EDP and Part Readiness across Teamcenter, PLM, PMNG/GRCA, beSTandard, DocInfo, SharePoint, and related platforms.
  • Author Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), build ROI/business cases, and assess cost/benefit and risk justifications to secure funding and drive Product Development (PD) goals.
  • Identify process efficiencies, manual effort reductions, and risk mitigation strategies across digital tools.

4. Data, Reporting & Digital Integration

  • Support global KPI and reporting needs for Part Readiness and EDP, driving the migration from Qlik Sense to Power BI and integrating datasets into enterprise platforms like Snowflake.
  • Coordinate data governance, privacy, and approval activities for engineering datasets containing controlled or personal information.

5. Training, Change Management & User Support

  • Develop, deliver, and promote global training materials, documentation, live demos, and coaching for engineers, approvers, and administrators.
  • Provide day-to-day user support and system troubleshooting for the Teamcenter Part Readiness–EDP environment.

6. Cross-Functional Program Coordination

  • Facilitate alignment across Engineering, PMO, Quality, Manufacturing, Aftersales, Supply Chain, ICT, and Cost Management teams.
  • Lead cross-functional workgroups to bridge process gaps, establish clear ownership, align technical requirements, and obtain executive approvals.
  • Synthesize complex technical and business concerns into clear decision frameworks, action plans, and leadership escalation materials.

Key Qualifications & Core Competencies

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred, ABET-accredited or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering management, PLM systems, or technical knowledge management.

  • Systems & Tools Expertise:

    • Strong working knowledge of Teamcenter AWC, PLM ecosystems, and familiarity with NX/Teamcenter releasing processes.
    • Experience with engineering repositories (Teamcenter, beSTandard, SharePoint, DocInfo).
    • Proficiency in Power BI, Qlik Sense, Microsoft 365, and enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake).
  • Business Analysis & Governance: Proven track record of drafting BRDs, creating business cases, conducting risk assessments, and performing system validation/testing.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Outstanding relationship-building, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills in English, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional, global teams.

  • Technical Aptitude: Strong affinity for IT system design, data structures, data security, and process optimization.
