Job Description:
BrightNight is seeking a Lead, EPC Procurement to support EPC sourcing, contractor engagement,
commercial evaluation, and procurement execution for our U.S. renewable energy and energy storage
portfolio. Based in India, this role partners closely with U.S.-based Development, Engineering,
Construction, Finance, and Legal teams to secure capable execution partners, strengthen project
economics, and improve schedule and construction readiness.
This is a hands-on individual-contributor lead role. The successful candidate will own assigned
procurement workstreams, run disciplined competitive sourcing processes, develop clear bid and
commercial analyses, and serve as a dependable day-to-day partner to U.S. project teams and EPC
contractors.
Requirement
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute EPC procurement strategies for U.S. utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, and hybrid
renewable energy projects. - Coordinate RFP processes end-to-end, including contractor outreach, bidder communications, data-room
materials, submissions, clarifications, and evaluation schedules. - Prepare bid comparisons, leveling analyses, commercial summaries, and recommendation materials for internal
decisions. - Support contractor prequalification, diligence, capability reviews, and procurement planning across the project
portfolio. - Maintain procurement trackers, action logs, market inputs, and decision records that support project execution.
- Build productive relationships with U.S. utility-scale EPC contractors and key subcontractor and supplier
stakeholders. - Support commercial discussions and negotiations covering price, scope, schedule, assumptions, exclusions,
payment terms, change management, and risk allocation. - Partner with Legal and project teams on contract development, redlines, issue resolution, and closeout of
commercial items. - Track contractor capacity, backlog, geographic coverage, labor availability, execution performance, and
emerging delivery risks. - Work across India and U.S. time zones with Development, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Legal, and
senior project stakeholders. - Provide procurement insights during development, budgeting, scheduling, execution planning, and investment
review activities. - Evaluate delivery models, contracting approaches, packaging strategies, and contractor engagement plans.
- Maintain EPC cost, schedule, and commercial benchmarks; monitor pricing, capacity, labor, supply-chain
conditions, and competitive dynamics. - Translate market and bid information into concise, decision-ready updates for U.S. project teams and
leadership.
Desired Experience/
Qualifications: - Required
- 6+ years of experience in renewable energy, power infrastructure, EPC contracting, construction procurement,
project delivery, or a related commercial function. - Experience sourcing, evaluating, or negotiating EPC services for utility-scale solar, battery storage, power
generation, or other complex infrastructure projects. - Working knowledge of EPC commercial structures, contractor business models, construction execution
strategies, and project risk allocation. - Ability to manage competitive procurement processes, organize complex bid information, and develop clear
recommendations. - Strong analytical, commercial, written, and verbal communication skills, including effective collaboration with
U.S.-based stakeholders. - Ability to work with meaningful overlap to U.S. business hours and travel occasionally for team or contractor
meetings.
Preferred - Experience with a U.S. IPP, renewable energy developer, utility, infrastructure investor, EPC contractor, or
similar organization. - Experience supporting U.S. utility-scale solar, battery storage, or hybrid renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with leading U.S. EPC contractors and the broader utility-scale renewable energy contractor market.
- Familiarity with project finance, project economics, construction risk management, and contract administration.
- Experience working in a global or distributed team environment across India and the United States.
