Lead Full stack Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned developer to join our team as a Lead Full Stack Engineer. This position is a 100% remote role based in NYC, NY, with a one-year contract duration. The selected candidate will work directly alongside our existing team during overlapping hours, ensuring seamless collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of our current Mendix-based auction platform to a new architecture.
• Develop and maintain the frontend using React.
• Implement backend services using AWS Lambda, written in TypeScript with NestJS or other recommended frameworks.
• Manage data storage with PostgreSQL and Amazon S3.
• Handle authentication and identity management using Amazon Cognito.
• Address concurrency and race conditions in the bidding system, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Optimize serverless deployment strategies and address common challenges like cold start problems with Lambdas.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Sr./Lead developer in full stack development.
• Strong expertise in serverless AWS, particularly with Lambda, S3, and Cognito.
• Experience handling concurrency and race conditions in high-stakes environments like auction systems.
• Solid understanding of performance tuning techniques, including query optimization and connection pooling.
• Ability to work during overlapping hours with the existing team.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, S3, and Cognito.
• Proficiency in React and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and database performance optimization.
• Familiarity with serverless deployment strategies and addressing cold start issues.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with NestJS or similar frameworks.
• Previous experience in migrating platforms and managing large-scale systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prepare clear, specific solutions for concurrency handling.
