Lead Full-Stack Engineer — Mobile, Web & TV

BookWatch and BibleWatch turn books and Bible stories into engaging video experiences. We’re a profitable, founder-led business looking for a senior, hands-on engineer to take technical ownership of our apps, websites and backend as we grow.

You’ll work directly with the founder, own important technical decisions and ship improvements across iOS, Android, web funnels and future TV apps. This role combines architecture, development and product thinking, with the opportunity to help build and lead the engineering team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Take ownership of our existing codebase, understand how the systems connect and prioritize improvements.

• Develop and maintain our iOS and Android apps, web experiences and backend services.

• Build and improve web acquisition funnels, onboarding, checkout and subscription management.

• Lead the development of TV experiences, including navigation, playback, authentication and subscription access.

• Improve reliability, performance and the overall user experience.

• Diagnose and fix bugs across client apps, APIs, payments and analytics integrations.

• Ensure subscription access and customer accounts work consistently across platforms.

• Implement reliable analytics and attribution, working with our marketing partners to validate tracking.

• Build the foundations for safe, frequent releases through practical testing, monitoring and deployment processes.

• Translate product ideas into clear technical plans and shipped features.

• Help evaluate, hire and mentor additional engineers as the team grows.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong experience shipping and maintaining production consumer products across mobile and web.

• Deep expertise in at least one mobile platform, plus substantial hands-on experience with frontend and backend development.

• Experience taking technical ownership of a product, including architecture, releases and production troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with subscriptions, in-app purchases, web payments and third-party integrations.

• Ability to work effectively in an existing codebase and make sound decisions about what to improve, rebuild or leave alone.

• Strong product judgment: you understand how engineering affects conversion, retention and customer experience.

• Comfort using AI development tools while reviewing and taking responsibility for the code you ship.

• Clear communication, independence and a willingness to stay hands-on.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Experience with Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin, modern web frameworks, Firebase or Google Cloud would be especially useful.

Video streaming, TV apps, subscription platforms, web funnels, experimentation and mobile attribution are additional advantages.

You don’t need to be an expert in every platform on day one. You should bring technical depth, the ability to learn unfamiliar systems and the judgment to identify when specialist support is needed.
