What they need
About the role
We're looking for a Lead Game Designer to help design and implement the core mechanics and loops for our creator platform. In this role, you will take ownership of large feature sets, working closely with design leadership to turn high-level vision into engaging, high-quality player and creator experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Own the design and implementation of large, complex features and game systems from concept through to live operations. Translate the high-level vision into clear, structured, and actionable design documentation.
- Plan out design ecosystems, progression systems, and loops that provide cohesive player experiences. Use both qualitative feedback and quantitative data to tune and balance these systems to meet player expectations and project KPIs.
- Take on high-risk areas of the game by guiding prototyping efforts. Evaluate proposed functionality, lead iteration loops, and use insights from playtesting and data to drive design improvements.
- Lead feature discussions with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Art, Product, UX) to build consensus and alignment. Clearly communicate complex designs and handle the design feedback cycle across disciplines.
- Act as a standard-bearer for game quality on the team. Coach and mentor junior and intermediate design staff on design practices, engine/tool usage, and aligning with the core product vision.
About you
- 8+ years of professional experience in game design or systems design, with a track record of shipping successful titles.
- Deep understanding of game design principles, core loops, player psychology, and progression systems.
- Proven ability to author large and complex features working in-engine or using associated proprietary tools.
- Experience using telemetry, A/B testing, and player analytics to make informed design decisions and tune game balance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively document rules, workflows, and pitch designs to internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the latest game design tools, AI-assisted workflows, and industry trends to improve efficiency and quality.
