Lead Innovation Designer
Social issues require more than just a good idea. They call for new perspectives, strong collaboration and the ability to drive change. Are you an experienced designer who can provide direction for social breakthrough initiatives? If so, we’d love to meet you.
Your role
As Lead Innovation Designer at Yellowchess, you will steer groundbreaking projects with social relevance. You move effortlessly between strategy and practice, between decision-makers and residents, and between insight and action.

You know how to bring the right people together to tackle an issue, combine different areas of expertise and ensure that the team as a whole achieves the best possible result. In doing so, you not only provide guidance on the substance of the work, but also act as the unifying force within projects and bear ultimate responsibility for achieving the intended results.
In addition, you will actively build lasting relationships with clients. You understand their context, identify opportunities and, together with them, develop new avenues for further impact. Always grounded in substance, trust and a shared ambition to bring about social change.

Why Yellowchess?
Yellowchess designs breakthroughs. We help organisations drive change on social issues where existing solutions no longer work. Not by focusing more intensely on what is already known, but by developing new perspectives, bringing together different interests and making visions of the future tangible.
You will work alongside public authorities, civil society organisations and businesses on issues such as water, energy, health, education, inclusion and the labour market. These are issues where different interests converge and where new perspectives are needed to drive change.
Our studio at Strijp-S is more than just a workplace. It is a creative environment where designers, strategists and change-makers work together to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. We believe that the best ideas emerge through collaboration, challenging one another and staying curious. We have a workshop where ideas can develop into tangible concepts, prototypes and experiences. A place where thinking and doing come together.
You’ll be joining a small and ambitious team with plenty of freedom, responsibility and scope for initiative. You’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact, both within projects and in the further development of Yellowchess.
In Addition, You Can Count On

An inspiring workplace at Strijp-S in Eindhoven

A dedicated multidisciplinary team with a wealth of knowledge, expertise and energy

Daily group lunch

Regular team activities and Friday afternoon drinks

A great deal of freedom and trust in how you organise your work

Plenty of scope for personal and professional development
