Lead Integration Enterprise Architect - EDI/B2B (IBM Sterling)

About the Role

McKesson is seeking a highly experienced Lead Integration Enterprise Architect to lead the strategy, architecture, and modernization of our enterprise EDI/B2B integration ecosystem. This role will be responsible for designing and evolving large-scale transaction processing platforms that support critical business operations across Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and trading partner integrations.

As a key technical leader, you will drive modernization initiatives that transform legacy EDI environments into API-led and event-driven architectures while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical integration platforms.

What You'll Do

• Define and lead enterprise EDI/B2B integration architecture strategy.
• Architect and modernize large-scale integration platforms supporting high-volume transaction processing.
• Design solutions utilizing EDI, APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud technologies.
• Lead EDI platform transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to support Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay business processes.
• Oversee trading partner onboarding, connectivity, and integration governance.
• Establish architecture standards, best practices, and roadmaps for enterprise integration platforms.
• Provide technical leadership across development, operations, and architecture teams.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Integration Architecture, EDI Architecture, or B2B Integration Architecture.
• Deep experience designing and supporting enterprise EDI/B2B platforms.
• Strong expertise with ANSI X12 and/or EDIFACT standards.
• Experience with EDI transaction sets including:
• 850 Purchase Orders
• 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgments
• 856 Advance Ship Notices
• 810 Invoices
• 997 Functional Acknowledgments
• Strong Java/J2EE technical background.
• Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing environments.
• Experience with trading partner onboarding and B2B ecosystem management.

Preferred Qualifications

• IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (strongly preferred).
• Experience with OpenText, GXS, Seeburger, Axway, or Cleo.
• API-led integration architecture and REST API design.
• Event-driven architecture experience utilizing Kafka or similar technologies.
• Experience with AS2, SFTP, and VAN connectivity.
• Cloud experience, preferably Azure.
• Experience leading enterprise EDI modernization and transformation programs.
