About Us
Fortress Equipment Solutions is a commercial IT and low-voltage contractor serving the DFW metroplex and surrounding regions. We handle structured cabling, surveillance, access control, and network infrastructure for commercial and industrial clients.
We're small, and we're not pretending otherwise. That means the person we hire will have their fingerprints on how this company runs — how jobs get scoped, how crews get built, what our standards look like on site. If you want to be a number on a crew roster at a 300-person shop, this isn't it. If you want to be someone whose work visibly moves a company forward, keep reading.
The Role
Lead Integrator is our title for the technician who owns a job start to finish. You'll take a scope of work, walk onto a site, and run it — plan the day, direct a small crew, and hand back a clean, tested, documented install without being babysat.
"Integrator" is deliberate. We're not looking for someone who only pulls and terminates copper. We want a tech who can tie the whole system together — cabling, cameras, access control, and the network hardware that makes it all work — and be our presence on the job site in front of clients, GCs, and site personnel.
This role requires travel. A meaningful share of our work happens outside the metroplex. Expect regional travel across Texas and neighboring states, including overnight stays on multi-day installs.
- Travel is a core part of the job, not an occasional exception
- Lodging and travel expenses are covered by the company
- Per diem provided on overnight travel
- If you have hard constraints on being away from home, this role will frustrate both of us — be upfront in your application
What You'll Do
- Lead and complete low-voltage projects and service tickets end to end
- Install, terminate, label, and test:
- Cat6 / Cat6A copper
- Fiber (single-mode and multimode)
- Racks, patch panels, pathways, and network hardware
- Install and commission cameras, access control hardware, and related devices
- Read and execute from prints, floor plans, and scopes of work
- Coordinate daily tasks and workflow for installers and junior technicians
- Maintain job-site organization, safety, and cleanliness
- Communicate progress, material needs, and issues to management before they become problems
- Ensure all work meets TIA/EIA standards and our internal quality expectations
- Troubleshoot installation issues in the field and make sound calls without waiting on a phone tree
- Represent the company professionally with clients, general contractors, and site personnel
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage experience
- Prior experience leading jobs or running a small crew
- Solid command of termination standards, testing, and labeling
- Ability to work independently and make good decisions in the field
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
- Able to lift 50+ lbs
- Willing and able to travel, including overnight
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen (required for GC site badging)
Strongly Preferred
- Camera and access control installation experience
- Fiber termination and testing experience
- Network hardware familiarity (switches, IDF/MDF buildouts)
Nice to Have
- BICSI or manufacturer certifications
- Lift certification (scissor/boom)
Compensation
- $28/hour base
- Performance bonuses on qualifying projects — paid for jobs delivered on or ahead of schedule with clean punch lists
- Company-covered lodging and per diem on travel
- Paid time off
- Overtime available
Where This Goes
This is not a dead-end seat. We're an early-stage company with real work in front of us, and we're building our senior bench from the inside. The Lead Integrator who consistently delivers clean, well-managed projects here has a direct path to Senior Integrator or Field Supervisor — and the input that comes with it.
We're looking for someone who wants to grow with the company, not just work at it.
How We Operate
- Clear expectations — you'll know what "done" looks like before you start
- Organized, professional job sites
- Accountability in both directions
- Quality workmanship over shortcuts
If that sounds like how you already work, apply.
