Your Task

We are looking for an experienced IT Architect who takes a decisive role at both the strategic and technical levels in the design and operation of complex platforms. In this position, you will have a key role in designing the architecture of cloud and on-premise systems and managing operations and development. This role requires confidence in speaking English and German and you will be working with the Hungarian team of Deutsche Telekom MMS GmbH. The aim of the project is to provide an excellent digital customer experience and to develop modern infrastructures, providing the necessary professional knowledge.

Responsibilities

Architectural and Technical Responsibility

• End-to-end responsibility for the architecture of cloud and on-premise/private cloud platforms
• Design and development of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public)
• Build Kubernetes-based hosting and deployment solutions
• Design and development of shared and managed service architectures
• Develop high-level architectures and technical solutions for major projects, changes and transformations
• Ensure high availability, scalability, multi-tenant operation and security by design
• Develop and maintain monitoring and KPI-based operations
• Integrate governance and security standards (e.g. corporate regulations, industry requirements)

Economic Approach

• Make architectural decisions with cost, efficiency and business value in mind
• Strike a balance between standardisation and individual solutions
• Evaluate technology alternatives for management decision support

Professional Management and Organizational Functioning

• Provide professional management of DevOps and System Engineering teams
• Develop operating models, roles and responsibilities
• Define interfaces between platform, delivery and operation
• Design and develop uniform architectural and operational principles

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with internal teams, customers and management
• Present complex technical concepts clearly
• Communicate decision support materials and architectural directions

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced IT Architect with several years of expertise in cloud and on-premise platform architecture, strong technical knowledge across multiple domains, excellent communication skills in both English and German, and the ability to take strategic and technical leadership in complex enterprise environments.

Must Have Skills

• At least 3-5 years of experience in an architect or senior/expert engineering role
• Deep technical knowledge in cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public)
• Deep technical knowledge in on-premise infrastructure, networking, virtualization and storage
• Experience operating Kubernetes-based platforms
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenToFU)
• Experience with automation and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet)
• Experience with CI/CD solutions (GitLab, ArgoCD)
• Experience in operating environments (SLA-based operations, incident and change management, managed services)
• Architecture-level thinking and strategic thinking
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Structured, documentation-oriented work approach
• Confident action on technical and business topics
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent collaboration skills
• High level of autonomy and decision-making ability
• Proficiency in German at least at B2 level
• Proficiency in English

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience in security and compliance (e.g. DSGVO, BSI, PSA processes)
• Knowledge of Policy as Code solutions (e.g. OPA, Kyverno)
• Knowledge of Service mesh technologies (e.g. Istio)
• Experience in a regulated or telco environment
