About the position

As Lead IT Architect Open Source Cloud, you are actively shaping the future of our cloud landscape. In this strategic role, you are responsible for designing and developing our open-source cloud architectures. They lead initiatives to introduce and optimize open-source cloud technologies and ensure that our infrastructure is highly available, scalable, and future-proof. A particular focus is on the architecture of cloud-native architectures and the use of containerization (e.g. Docker, Podman) and Kubernetes to automate and orchestrate our applications. They advise internal stakeholders, provide technical direction and significantly drive innovation in our IT infrastructure.

Your tasks

• Sparring partner for lead architect on customer side (open source cloud)
• Create and further develop a product vision for a sovereign cloud platform
• Definition of the technology roadmap in coordination with specialist teams and delivery streams
• Architecture governance and technical quality assurance across all delivery streams
• Evaluation and recommendation of open-source technologies for use in sovereign cloud environments
• Representing the technical architecture position in customer workshops and committees
• Design and management of the multi-cluster strategy based on Gardener and Cluster API
• Architectural responsibility for bare metal automation with IronCore, PXE Boot, Redfish/IPMI, and BMC integration

your profile

Experienced technology and strategy partner with a focus on cloud architectures and open source ecosystems. As a sparring partner for the lead architect, you will support the design and development of an open source cloud.

The focus is on developing a product vision for a sovereign cloud platform with high requirements for security, scalability and sovereignty.

Profound expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration enables the construction of cloud-native infrastructures. Experience with IronCore in the areas of cloud-native IaaS and bare metal automation completes the profile.

In multi-cluster management, you rely on Gardener to efficiently orchestrate complex Kubernetes landscapes. Her focus is on automation, resilience, and future-proof platforms.

• Experience in strategic technology consulting and architecture governance
