Job Title: Lead Java Engineer – Claude AI

Job Location: Remote (Anywhere in Canada)

Overview

We are seeking a Lead Java Engineer with 10+ years of software development experience and hands-on exposure to Claude AI. The ideal candidate will combine strong Java engineering fundamentals with practical experience using Claude AI to develop custom skills, AI agents, agentic workflows, and proof-of-concept (POC) solutions. This role requires the ability to independently prototype AI-powered solutions, evaluate integration opportunities, and communicate technical outcomes effectively to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and related technologies.
• Leverage Claude AI to build and configure custom skills, AI agents, and agentic workflows.
• Develop, test, and demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions using Claude AI and related capabilities.
• Evaluate AI-driven solutions and identify opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into existing applications and business workflows.
• Explore LLM integrations and AI-powered automation to enhance application functionality and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and demonstrate proposed solutions.
• Present POC results, technical findings, and implementation recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and assess the feasibility, effectiveness, and scalability of proposed solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and software engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Java, object-oriented programming, REST APIs, and enterprise application development.
• Practical, hands-on experience with Claude AI, including developing custom skills and AI agents.
• Demonstrated ability to independently build prototypes and deliver technical proof-of-concept solutions.
• Familiarity with agentic workflows, LLM integrations, and AI-powered automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and present solution outcomes.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
