About Us

RR Home Improvements Ltd is a growing home improvement company specialising in the design and installation of high-quality, bespoke garden rooms throughout Central Scotland.

Due to increasing demand, we’re looking for an experienced Lead Joiner to join our team on a full-time, employed basis.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, is reliable and can confidently take charge of garden room installations from start to finish.

The Role

As a Lead Joiner, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and carrying out garden room installations to our company specifications and quality standards.

You will be provided with detailed build specifications, drawings and project information, and will be expected to manage installations independently with minimal supervision from management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead garden room installations from start to completion.
• Carry out timber framing, roofing, cladding, insulation, flooring and finishing joinery.
• Work from drawings and follow RR Home Improvements’ build specifications.
• Manage and work alongside other joiners and labourers on site.
• Organise daily tasks to ensure projects run efficiently and remain on schedule.
• Maintain excellent standards of workmanship throughout every installation.
• Communicate with management regarding progress, materials and any issues on site.
• Ensure sites are kept clean, organised and safe.
• Take responsibility for the overall quality of joinery works.

Requirements

Essential:

• Experienced and fully competent joiner.
• Strong knowledge of timber-frame construction.
• Must have your own van and tools.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Able to manage garden room installations independently with little to no supervision.
• Confident reading drawings and working to detailed specifications.
• Capable of leading and organising a small team.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience building garden rooms, timber buildings or similar structures.
• Experience with EPDM roofing, composite cladding and internal finishing works.
• Previous experience supervising joiners or labourers.
